An international fashion research project exploring the 'craft of use'

Action Tools

The tools of use become an extension of our creative expression and shape our engagement with the world. Courtesy of simple or sophisticated technology, they open up alternative pathways of action.

Felt to fit

“This is a jumper I bought three years ago and I was working in retail so one year I bought everything black. It was a large jumper… .I used to wear it as a dress with a belt and then of course I kind of got fed up with it because it was black all the time so I put it in the machine on the hot wash and because its wool it shrank and so now it’s a small sweater which sort of fits rather than being a baggy dress. And also I found some holes which I then mended before I put them in the machine so they kind of got felted as well.”
