An international fashion research project exploring the 'craft of use'

My Community

In smaller communities people can more easily see the effects of their own actions on each other and the environment. They can also better understand the ramifications of their choices; allowing them to take responsbility for them. Expressing community through our garment choices sews the seeds of a new type of self-reliance in fashion based on connection to people and place.

Brooklyn geometry

“I am wearing a hoody. It’s sort of a cobalt blue with various geometric patterns on it. It’s sewn from reclaimed sweater materials. I love the sort of handmade, DIY quality of it. I found a design team on the internet that sells pants and hoodies and sort of street wear done in bold, geometric colours and they’re based in Brooklyn. Everything good comes from Brooklyn."
