See Things Differently

Garments are both material and message. They cover us up – and reveal us – physically and emotionally. They hold potential to alter how we feel and how we see things, which in turn, change the things we see.

Pick me up

“This is a bed jacket that my mother let me wear when I really wasn’t feeling well as a young kid and when I had to stay in bed… It was given to my mother by her mother for the same reasons, and her mother I think is the one who bought it…

My mother, she’d pull [it] out and her jewellery box and allow me to wear it, to dress up in it and try her rings on, rather than think about how ill I was feeling...”
