An international fashion research project exploring the 'craft of use'

Skills of resourcefulness

Creative activists contribute greatly to society through innovation and experiment, taking on projects that fail to hit the radar of conventional industry. Their work is a training ground for new practices, for trialling novel approaches and reviving old skills that promote alternative ideas about fashion provision and consumption.

Focused thrift

"I really like to go to vintage stores so I get most of my clothing from thrift stores and also from antique stores. I shop by thinking of like a specific thing that might be on my mind … and I just gotta keep looking and looking and if it’s too like pricy I’ll always look for the next one but I’ll definitely get it eventually. …Like the other day I went into a thrift store on 25th and I was looking for a coat that had a specific pattern that was kind of geometrical but looked like it could have come from like the ‘90s but it wasn’t like bright colours and it was like a coat you could wear in the fall…"
