An international fashion research project exploring the 'craft of use'

Open and Adjust

Garments can be reworked to meet changing needs. The knowledge and skills to open up a garment and adjust it to fit enrich and embolden society. They remind us about ingenuity and resourceful possibility and help replace consumption with action.

Jazzed-up eighties

"I managed to grab this dress up at a sale at the community college I went to back home in Houston, Texas. The Department Chair is like from the old society, has all these connections for getting old friends donate their clothes, [and sells them] to raise money for scholarships for kids who take the Fashion Programme. The dress is some old eighties label… and I like the fit of it but I also like to jazz it up to make it a little funky so I have this edge shibori piece I put in. That’s some fun."
